Products covered by these terms

These terms apply to the SwitchEffect app, the SwitchEffect Camera companion apps, their included app extensions, and the SwitchEffect website. In these terms, they are called the “SwitchEffect products.”

By using a SwitchEffect product, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the SwitchEffect products.

SwitchEffect

SwitchEffect is the main software video switcher and production app for supported Apple devices. It lets you build reusable switchers, combine camera, microphone, media, and web sources, control live productions, create recordings and streams, and connect to compatible production hardware and software.

SwitchEffect Camera

SwitchEffect Camera is a free companion app that lets you provide camera video, microphone audio, or screen content directly to a compatible SwitchEffect device, without an intermediate server, through a connection you initiate or authorize. It is intended to be used with SwitchEffect and may have limited or no functionality on its own.

You are responsible for choosing what you share, checking that you are connected to the intended SwitchEffect device, and stopping sharing when you no longer want the content transmitted. Only connect to devices and production operators you trust. A receiving SwitchEffect user may view, record, stream, capture, or otherwise use the shared content as part of a production, and SwitchEffect Camera cannot control or delete copies made outside the Camera app.

Your productions and content

You retain ownership of the content and configurations you create or import. You are solely responsible for what you create, capture, share, record, stream, transmit, display, publish, or export using the SwitchEffect products, and for where that content is sent.

You are responsible for obtaining any rights, licenses, permissions, consents, and releases required for your content and production activities, including permission from people who appear or are heard in a production and for material visible in a shared screen. You are also responsible for complying with applicable laws and the rules of any platform, network, venue, hardware, or service you use. The developer does not monitor, review, approve, or endorse your content.

Purchases and subscriptions

This section applies to the main SwitchEffect app. SwitchEffect Camera is free and does not offer purchases or subscriptions. SwitchEffect may offer subscriptions or one-time purchases. Purchases are billed through your Apple Account and are subject to Apple's purchase, renewal, cancellation, and refund rules. The developer does not receive or store your full payment card information.

Prices and available plans may vary by region and are shown in the App Store before purchase. You can manage or cancel a subscription through your Apple Account settings. Cancellation stops future renewals, but access to paid features may continue until the end of the current paid period. If a subscription ends, lapses, or is refunded, access to paid features may change.

Apple services and device features

The SwitchEffect apps are licensed under Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. These terms supplement, and do not replace, that agreement.

The SwitchEffect products may use Apple services and device features such as the App Store, StoreKit, Keychain, Face ID or device authentication, cameras, microphones, screen recording or screen sharing, Photos, local networking, file storage, and sharing tools. Your use of Apple services and device features is also governed by Apple's terms, privacy, and security practices.

Acceptable use

• Do not use the SwitchEffect products to create, share, record, stream, transmit, display, or distribute content that is unlawful, infringing, deceptive, harmful, or abusive.
• Do not capture, share, record, stream, or distribute another person's image, voice, private information, screen content, or copyrighted material without any permission the law requires.
• Do not interfere with the app or website, bypass security or access controls, distribute malicious code, or attempt unauthorized access to devices, networks, accounts, or information.
• Do not use a SwitchEffect product in a way that violates applicable law or the terms of a connected platform, service, network, or device.

Changes

The SwitchEffect products may change over time, including their features, pricing, availability, supported devices, compatibility, and these terms. Features may be added, changed, suspended, interrupted, or discontinued. Updated terms will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.

Stopping use and termination

You may stop using a SwitchEffect product at any time by stopping any active share, removing the app from your devices, and, if applicable, cancelling your SwitchEffect subscription through Apple. Before removing SwitchEffect, export any configurations or content you want to keep. The developer does not maintain a cloud copy that can be restored for you.

Your right to use a SwitchEffect product may end if you violate these terms or Apple's applicable license terms. A SwitchEffect product may also stop receiving updates or be discontinued. Provisions that by their nature should continue after you stop using the products—including responsibility for content, disclaimers, and limitations of liability—will remain in effect.

Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The SwitchEffect products are provided as is and as available, without warranties to the fullest extent permitted by law. This includes warranties of availability, reliability, accuracy, compatibility, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Camera and screen sharing, live production, recording, streaming, networking, third-party services, and connected hardware can fail or behave unexpectedly. You are responsible for testing your setup and maintaining any backup production process your situation requires.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the developer is not responsible for your productions or content, or for claims arising from what you create, capture, share, record, stream, transmit, display, publish, or export. The developer is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of content, data, revenue, profits, goodwill, business, or production time arising from use of or inability to use a SwitchEffect product, connected hardware, third-party services, or the website.
